Do credit scores affect premiums?
Yes they do. According to regulatory associations, there is a direct correlation between credit scores and individuals getting into accidents, and cancellation policies due to non-payment. Therefore, premiums are higher for lower credit scores.
What is NOT Covered on my Homeowner Insurance ?
Every homeowners policy is unique, but in many cases, you need extended insurance to cover things like by-laws, Earthquake, Flood, and Intentional Acts. These optional coverages do not come standard on most policies. Also, standard wear and tear is not covered and typically isn’t coverable.
I own a home-based business, do I need insurance?
An extremely small business, such as a business operated by one or two people out of a home, may not need workers compensation insurance, but it often needs more property and liability insurance than is provided in a typical homeowners policy.
Will my existing homeowner policy cover my home if I move and have tenants in it or if it is vacant?
No. We will need to rewrite it to a dwelling fire policy to ensure you are properly covered.
What do I do in the event of a loss or claim?
Call your Local ISC Office ASAP to report the loss so that we can get it turned in to the company and assigned as quickly as possible. Alternatively, see if your insurance company has policy self- servicing option by viewing Our Insurance Carriers.
Should I file a claim on my home insurance policy?

Why do I have to cover 1099 employees under my Workers Comp policy?
The real question is does that 1099 worker have their own WC policy if so they are considered an “Insured Sub” and you will not have to add their payroll to your Workers Comp policy. If your 1099 employee does not have their own WC policy then they are considered an “Uninsured Sub” and you will need to report their payroll under your Workers Comp policy.
